E-mobility House

project description

Low-energy houses and electromobility are crucial in the global fight to reduce CO2 emissions and combat climate change. The vision of a world free from fossil fuels is becoming increasingly realistic. The new era demands a new symbol, linking housing, mobility, and renewable energy production. This idea of “coupling” inspired the E-House “Symbion” concept. The design melds the archetypal form of a single-family home with the overhanging roof reminiscent of gas stations, creating a functional, energetic, and architectural symbiosis. Designed for a 590 m² plot, the north-south-oriented building features a living area of 189 m² spread across three levels, with an additional 30 m² in the basement for technical equipment and storage. The innovative layout includes a “mini” core zone for a family of four and expandable spaces for guests and play areas. The concept prioritizes energy efficiency, utilizing solar and wind power, and incorporates flexible living spaces that can be converted into three separate rental units. This layered approach not only optimizes functional interactions but also enhances thermal regulation, reducing the house’s heating volume by one-third in winter without compromising comfort.
